Convent of Jesus & Mary

With the Inspiration of

St. Claudine Thevenet

We work hard for academic excellence,

development of skills and
character formation.

Welcome to Convent of Jesus & Mary

Convent of Jesus & Mary is in the heart of Ambala - a day school for girls , it is proud to belong to the CJM family which has branches in other parts of India and the World. The school is known for its academic excellence, skill development and character formation.

Vision Statement

We, the Sisters of the Congregation of Jesus & Mary serving India since 1842, commit ourselves to the promotion of a more just and humane society in our country. The inspiration provided by our Mother Foundress, St. Claudine Thevenet, since 1818, continues to strengthen us in this commitment.

In the India of today, the pressures of casteism, communalism, poverty and exploitative structures make it imperative to equip our students not only with intellectual skills but also with a set of attitudes imbued with social, moral and spiritual values.

Our commitment to this education is to serve specifically the young and among them, the poor. We seek to conscientize them to their rights and struggle with them in the face of on-going oppression and exploitation.

Aims and Objectives

The school aims at promoting all-round development of the students with respect to :
Adjustment to Environment
The education pattern keeps in mind:
  • Home Life - to be effective members of the family.
  • Work Life - to contribute to the well-being of the community.
  • Civic Life - to prepare for active participation in civic duties.
Personal Growth
The students are led to become integrated personalities through a formation which takes care of the spiritual and moral, physical and intellectual, aesthetic and cultural, emotional and social.
